Home to over half of Alaska’s population, Southcentral is a playground of activities from world-class fishing to hiking and wildlife viewing. Central Alaska Communities:
Anchorage, Alaska is located in south-central Alaska, nestled between the Chugach Mountains to the east and the shoreline of the Cook Inlet to the west.
Cordova, Cordova is located at the southeastern end of Prince William Sound in the Gulf of Alaska.
Girdwood, Girdwood is located on Turnagain Arm, 35 miles southwest of downtown Anchorage.
Homer, Homer is located on the shores of Kachemak Bay near the southern tip of the Kenai Peninsula.
Kenai, Kenai is located on the western coast of the Kenai Peninsula, fronting Cook Inlet.
Kodiak, Kodiak Island, "the emerald isle," is the largest island in Alaska.

Valdez, Valdez is a port community of roughly 4000 residents located on the northeast section of Prince William Sound.
Wasilla, Located on the Alaska Railroad main line that runs between Anchorage and Fairbanks, Wasilla is about 45 miles north of Anchorage. It is situated between the Matanuska and Susitna valleys of southcentral Alaska.
