El Paso Resident Tuition
You can pay resident tuition while attending NMSU's main campus if you:
- are a permanent Texas resident AND
- live in Texas within a 135 mile radius of NMSU's main campus AND live in Texas within a 135 mile radius of NMSU's main campus AND live in Texas within a 135 mile radius of NMSU's main campus AND live in Texas within a 135 mile radius of NMSU's main campus AND
- are a U.S. citizen (or a legal resident) AND
- have been admitted to NMSU-main campus AND
- are an entering freshmen with a cumulative high school gpa of 3.00 or an ACT composite score of 21 (SAT=970) OR
- are a transfer student with a cumulative college gpa of 2.25 or higher OR
- are a graduate student with a cumulative college gpa of 3.00.
How to apply
New Students: Once you have been admitted, your admissions application will be used to verify your eligibility for this program.
Currently Enrolled NMSU Students: Contact the NMSU Registrar's Office at (505) 646-3412. An application form is required to verify your eligibility for the program.
Please note
- This program is not available at NMSU's branch Campuses.
- At NMSU, students who qualify for this program will remain classified as a NON RESIDENT (Texas) but will be charged RESIDENT tuition fees.
- Once on the program, a 2.50 semester gpa will be required to retain the scholarship.
- An appeals process is in place for those with extenuating circumstances.
