This chapter begins our story with a small group of Siberians making their way into a land called Beringia and gradually becoming a unified people. We explore who they were, what they were like, and how they migrated. As a visual aid, below you’ll find a picture of the entirety of Beringia and an animation of Beringia’s submersion over 21,000 years.
